Harborne Central, Birmingham
In October 2008 Birmingham Properties Group was appointed to develop a large residential scheme on Harborne High Street, a sought after suburb west of Birmingham city centre. Another developer had gone into administration in summer 2008, leaving a very prominent half completed construction site. However, Birmingham Properties Group acted incredibly swiftly to ensure a new contractor was appointed to recommence work without further delay.
Having fully assessed the local marketplace and demand for housing, Birmingham Properties Group sought planning permission to reduce the number of apartments from 94 to 64, creating 16 new townhouses. This tweak to the design presented no delay to the construction programme and the £16million scheme was launched to the public in summer 2009.
Birmingham Properties Group appointed an acclaimed marketing agency to rename and rebrand the site to Harborne Central, create a website, produce a high quality brochure and display signage around the perimeter of the site. A marketing suite and view home were unveiled to coincide with the public launch, enabling purchasers to get a true feel for the quality of the product.
The rate of sale at Harborne Central has exceeded targets and market expectations and Birmingham Properties Group has ensured that the reputation and profile of the development is in no way scarred by the original developer going into administration.
