Harborne Central

Harborne Central is one of the fastest selling developments in the West Midlands

Date: 8th June 2011

With 60 per cent of the apartments now sold at Harborne Central, developer Birmingham Properties Group has confirmed that it is one of the fastest selling developments across the West Midlands region.

Comprising 16 townhouses and 64 apartments, the development was unveiled to the public in October 2009 and the build programme is on track to complete this autumn. Harborne Central is located on Harborne High Street in the heart of the thriving Victorian Village and its prime location and the quality of the accommodation have been key drivers in the sales success.

Celine Southall, director of Birmingham Properties Group comments: “We launched Harborne Central while the UK recession was still hitting hard and from day one we were overwhelmed with the enquiry levels and rate of sale. The success to date at Harborne Central – with 60 per cent of the apartments now sold – is testament that even in a challenging economic climate, buyers are happy to invest in a quality product, located in a prime location at an agreeable price.

“What is really pleasing is that the buyers who have completed on their purchases and are living in their new apartments have already seen their homes improve in value. Considering our contractors are not even off the site yet, this is a tremendous vote of confidence for the development.”

One bedroom apartments are priced from £134,995, while two bedroom designs are priced from £179,995. Meanwhile, the spectacular contemporary freehold townhouses, which were recently launched to the market are priced from £277,995.

The two and three bedroom townhouses offer between 1,000 to 1,500 sq ft of stunning accommodation across two or three floors, and a number of townhouses benefit from roof terraces or balconies. Harborne Central has a very generous parking allocation, with each apartment having at least one allocated space in the secure underground car park, while townhouses and penthouses have two dedicated parking spaces.

Celine Southall added: “A lot of people who have bought at Harborne Central are relatively new to the area, having relocated for work. However, as the site reaches the end of the build programme, with the scaffolding removed and the landscaping works taking shape, we have had a real sales flurry from local buyers, many of whom have lived in the area for several years, or have grown up nearby.

“Harborne Central is different to many of the apartment schemes in Birmingham city centre, with only a handful of apartments here having been purchased by private investors to let out. The majority of buyers are owner-occupiers, so already there is a lovely community spirit that has naturally developed between neighbours.”

The 64 apartments and penthouses at Harborne Central are arranged within two distinctively shaped buildings. Six of the 16 townhouses are two storeys high, while the larger townhouses are laid out over three storeys. A number of the three bedroom townhouses also have a dedicated study and utility room. Each townhouse has its own dedicated slice of Harborne Central’s expansive communal grounds. The garden areas for each property are demarcated with low black railings and a gate at the end leads out onto the communal garden.

Harborne Central’s specification features include custom designed kitchens with built-in appliances and luxury bathrooms with white designer sanitary ware. The townhouse kitchens and bathrooms have an enhanced specification, including Corian worktops.

Security features at the development include audio entry phones, NACOSS approved security alarms and allocated parking within the basement, secured by a remotely operated gate.
